Here we go again...

Well here we are, cycle day one. I could tell it was coming, so for it didn't hit me as bad as last month. I had such high hopes for this month. Ovulation definitely happened and it just seemed like we did everything right. We did get great news from Trevor's follow up doctor's visit, so things look great on his end. I picked up my prescription for Clomid today. I'll start that on Saturday. This will be my first cycle, so I'm certainly anxious to see how my body will react.

I was really hoping this Mother's Day weekend was going to bring celebration. I'm hoping I can remember my mom and celebrate how lucky I was to have her, even if my time with her was too short. I know it's going to be difficult not to dwell on what else has been lost this year.

  1. I'm sorry. :-( AF came for me, too. And I had spotting three days beforehand. I *never* spot. Just when it seemed like my cycles were normal...

  2. Booooo!!! I'm so sorry. I just took my first clomid about a half hour ago, so we'll see how that goes. I've heard the side effects can sometimes be a pain, but I'm hoping for no nausea or hot flashes! What's your plan for this cycle? Are you trying anything new or different?

  3. Fingers crossed for you!! Hope the Clomid is a success!

Well, my doctor probably won't see me until September if I'm not pregnant by then. In the meantime, will continue to use OPKs. I also got a Clearblue Easy Fertility Monitor, so giving that a try as well this cycle. Continuing with the Preseed. I assume you that by temping you discovered that something was up with your ovulation? Is that how you got a script for Clomid?

  4. My OB is really great. He's really monitored my progress and suggested the Clomid because of my short cycles. I ovulate consistently but have a short luteal phase. That can sometimes cause an issue with healthy eggs. I'm starting out with a low dose. I also use preseed. Good luck with the fertility monitor. Hopefully that gives you more insight into your cycle!

  5. Me too! We've also been using Preseed. So nice that your OB is being so proactive!

How long are your cycles? Mine have been around 28 days. But I don't know exactly when I O, if at all, since the D&C. I detected my surge with OPKs on CD15 last cycle. I felt cramping on CD17. I'm keeping my luteal phase on my radar, in case I need to ask about it at some point.

  6. My last few cycles have been 27 days, 23 days, 24 days and 26 days. However, I almost always ovulate on day 14 or 15, so pretty late for such a short cycle! I've been worried about side effects with the Clomid, but so far nothing. I've taken 3 doses so far, I take it tonight and tomorrow night, then we'll see what happens! It's so hard not to get high expectations when taking this next step, but then I also know this could take longer than one month. Just my mixed emotions running crazy!

  7. Ugh, sorry AF showed for you! I am getting ready to go to the docs next week as I haven't ovulated since March. I'm hoping, praying, that he puts me on Clomid so I can at least ovulate and begin TTC again! I'll be interested to see what side effects you get from it...
